Introduction

In April 2012 the BBC aired a documentary with the title "Sexism in Football?" Unclear whether the title actually is a question or if the question mark just serves ironic purpose, even without having seen the footage it should be obvious to anyone that the more fitting title would be "Sexism in Football!"

Over the past decades women have fought immensely for their rights in oder to achieve equality. And although we all know that there is no difference between men and women in terms of intelligence, ability, talent, etc, inequality based on gender still exists. And there is probably no other realm in which it not only persist but almost seems to be encouraged, like the realm of sport, especially football. The fact alone that you have to say "women's" football (implying that the real, pure football is male). Wherever you look there is a significant difference between men and women, be it the number of professionals (on and off field) and fans, wages, media coverage, etc.
And it seems like nobody cares.
Wheras major associations such as FIFA or UEFA organize campaigns against homophobia and racism, there seems to be no action done against sexism.

But why is that the case?

Does nobody see the inequality? Or is there none? Are women really physically inferior to men? Are women inable to understand football? Do women simply lack the balls (figuratively and literally) to persist in this world?

On this blog we are going to explore this subject and highlicht several aspects of it (and prove why men need to grow a vagina and get over the fact that football is not a male exclusivity).
